Aug 10,2009 - Try to imagine what it would be like to not be able to pursue your own dreams or your children’s dreams and aspirations because you or they were physically disabled.
MS. is an unpredictable and disabling disease of the central nervous system. It affects your vision, hearing, memory, balance and mobility. It is estimated that one person out of 700 will be diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, two out of three diagnosed people will be women, and a large number of these women will be in their early 20’s. MS is five times more prevalent in colder climates such as northern United States , Canada , and Europe . Canada has the most cases of MS, and at present, there is no cure.
You may wonder why are we participating in this cause? At first, we saw it as a great way to support a friend’s mission to raise $1M within the next four years to help M.S Society find a cure and to support those affected by this disease, and such includes his mother who has MS for over 35 years. On a personal level, we saw fund raising as an effective way to support causes we feel passionate about since we plan to fund raise to build homes for orphans in the future. Then we see that it is really about making a difference in the world and being a contribution to those who are in need of our help. We see it as a way to give back for all the blessings we have in our life.
We're asking for your help with this cause. Together with you we can make a difference. Your donation of any amount will support the research and programs to help the many people that are affected with this debilitating disease. Let us work together to enhance the quality of life of those already affected.
Donations over $20 will receive an automatic electronic tax receipt from the society.
Thank you in advance for your generous support of this very worthwhile project. Please forward this on to anyone you think might be interested in making a contribution. We can and do make a difference!
With Much Love,
Sandra & Saby
